Feb 12, 2010Love Hurts II poetry slam
Valentine’s theme Poetry slam Love hurt so much last year we had to do it again. University of the Fraser Valley’s Library, theatre and English departments present the Love Hurts II poetry slam. Just like last year poets register immediately before the performance and have three minutes to present an original poem. Judges are randomly selected from the audience. In round one, poets compete for applause. In round two, finalists present a second poem and compete for cash and prizes. There are no props. It’s just you and the mike. Love or angst poetry is suggested but not mandatory. Doors open and poets register in the UFV theatre lobby at 7 p.m. The slamming starts at 7:30 p.m.
